Gain is plain multiplication: every sample is scaled and then hard-clipped to the -1 to +1 range a 16-bit file can hold. Pushing a quiet recording up is safe, but a file that already touches full scale will clip, and the number of clipped samples is reported honestly below the result so you can hear the difference for yourself. The output is an uncompressed 16-bit PCM WAV.

What Is Audio Volume Booster?

The Audio Volume Booster decodes a file, multiplies every sample by a gain factor you choose and writes the result back as a 16-bit WAV. Peaks are clamped deliberately and the number of clipped samples is reported, so you can see exactly how close to the ceiling you pushed the recording rather than discovering the distortion later. Normalize to peak does the opposite job: it measures the loudest sample in the file and solves for the gain that brings it to just under full scale.

Who Uses the Audio Volume Booster?

Interview and lecture recordings, phone voice notes and quiet video soundtracks get lifted to a level that is actually audible on a laptop speaker.

How to Use the Audio Volume Booster

  1. Choose or drop the audio file and let the readout report its length and channel count.
  2. Drag the gain slider, or tick Normalize to peak and let the tool calculate the factor.
  3. Boost, review the clipped sample count, then download the WAV.

Why Choose Our Audio Volume Booster?

  • Honest clipping report so you know when the ceiling was hit
