HTML Beautifier

Turn minified or badly indented markup back into a readable document tree. Tags, attributes, comments and <pre> bodies are copied through untouched; only the whitespace between elements is rebuilt.

Drop an .html file here or click to browse

Paste markup and press Beautify.

The document is parsed into a tree first and printed back from that tree, so every start tag, end tag, attribute and comment keeps its original spelling, including single quotes, unquoted values and attribute order. Text inside inline elements stays on the element's line, while children of block elements go one level deeper. A <pre>, <textarea> or inline script body is copied byte for byte, because there whitespace is content rather than layout. Markup that cannot be parsed is reported with its line number instead of silently rewritten.

What Is HTML Beautifier?

The HTML Beautifier runs a scanner that understands tags, attribute quoting, comments and raw-text elements, so the contents of a script, a style block or a textarea are reproduced untouched while the markup around them is indented by nesting depth. Inline siblings keep their spaces, which is why formatting does not change how the page renders, block children go one per line, and the doctype stays where it belongs. Unclosed tags and stray closing tags are listed with an approximate line number instead of being silently rewritten.

Who Uses the HTML Beautifier?

Developers re-indent minified markup before editing it, agencies tidy a template handed over by a client, and anyone auditing document structure needs to see the nesting at a glance.

How to Use the HTML Beautifier

  1. Paste the markup or drop an HTML file into the input box.
  2. Set the indent size and the attribute wrapping you want, then press Beautify.
  3. Read the problem list for unmatched tags, then copy or download the formatted file.

Why Choose Our HTML Beautifier?

  • Raw-text elements such as script, style and pre are preserved byte for byte
  • Inline whitespace rules keep the rendered result identical
  • Malformed input is reported by line rather than dropped or rewritten
